State Route 1, California: A Delightful Detour

Dear Luna,

Just settled in our gorgeous Marriott Santa Clara Hotel room (sponsored by the company that bubba’s got a job interview with). We’re all exhausted. And it feels so good to lay our weary bones on a plush bed — in your case, a posh crib. Today, bubba drove almost the whole day from Los Angeles to Santa Clara, California. Part of State Route 1 was closed, and we backtracked some 150 miles so the trip took longer than expected.

And you hate being strapped in the baby car seat (or you’re still not used to it). You whinged most of the time. That’s what made you tired. Very tired that you dozed halfway the trip and slept through our quick visit to the elephant seals observation deck in San Simeon.

Well, at least that nap gave you enough rest to last through our dinner with my relatives who drove from San Leandro just to meet you and bubba.

At the parking lot of Howard Johnson Hotel in Los Angeles. Still in a cheery mood.

View from the backseat. Such a scenic drive! Mum sat beside you throughout the ride.

We stopped for this stunning background.

Sweet reward. Made the detour worthwhile.

“Are we there yet?!”

Even though the hotel provided us a crib, you’re here on our bed cause that’s what you prefer.

Whatta day, ei? Tomorrow, you and I are just gonna hang out in the hotel room while bubba gets interviewed by a company he’s eyeing. Let’s wish him good luck.

Sweet dreams, baby doll.

Kisses,
About-To-Pass-Out Mum
